The Only Way Is Essex is heading for the big screen in 2012, after the show proved a hit, according to reports.

Show bosses are reportedly planning to cash in on the success of the the popular ITV2 reality TV show and turn it into a movie.

The show, which stars the likes of Joey Essex, Sam Faiers, James 'Arg' Argent, Nanny Pat, Jessica Wright and Chloe Sims, could potentially hit the big screen as soon as next year with former TOWIE stars Mark Wright and Amy Childs, who left the show who left 'TOWIE' to appear in 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' and 'Celebrity Big Brother' returning for cameos appearances.

According to the Daily Star, TOWIE's Sam Faiers shared her excitement over the news that a movie was in the pipeline.

The reality star told the newspaper: "I think a movie would be funny. The film would have to contain drama, of course, more drama than there is in the show.

"There should be a wedding, a pregnancy, a divorce. Another affair,"she said.

But it seems that Lauren Goodger could be noticeably absent from the movie after she hinted last week that she may not return for the next series could following claims that having her painful split from ex fiance, Mark Wright, documented throughout the third series of the show was "really tough".

She said: "In the beginning the show was a real laugh and we had fun. But the last series has been really tough.
