A Zimbabwean man who allegedly attacked his wife after she refused to teach him how to use Facebook has been found guilty of domestic violence.

Benjamin Chanyau of Gweru is said to have beaten Fadzai Muchavhaira and threatened to stab her to death for refusing to show him how to create an account on the popular social networking site.

Her brother taught her in the presence of her husband how to open and operate a Facebook account. Chanyau later asked her to open her Facebook account and teach him how to navigate.

He also demanded to see what his wife was posting, the court heard. He saidthat the site was bad for married couples.

She refused to help him and a row developed. Chanyau kicked her in the stomach.

Chanyau was found guilty of assault at the Gweru magistrate court and fined US$200 or one month in jail.
