Volusia County Beach Safety has reported three separate shark attacks over the weekend. The most recent incident occured on Sunday when a 68-year-old had his right foot bitten by a shark in knee-deep water.

The day before, a 23-year-old woman went surfing when she was bitten by a shark on her left hand and wrist at the New Smyrna Beach in Florida. She was immediately rushed to the nearby Halifax Health Medical Center to undergo stitches. Moments after, a 21-year-old man was bitten on his right foot and was treated on the beach.

The type of sharks responsible for the attacks is still unknown. Following this incident, lifeguards have rescued 30 people from the beach with no major issues.

This was the 17th incident reported in Florida this year, according to the University of Florida's International Shark Attack.
