Ari Emanuel's Memoir Reportedly Causes Concern for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Ahead of Release

Ari Emanuel's memoir, Roll the Calls, will be released on 22 September, prompting questions about whether the Hollywood powerbroker discusses Meghan Markle, Prince Harry or Archewell Productions.

Published by Knopf, the 432-page memoir is billed as a candid account of Emanuel's career. Its official description says it covers the signings and firings, mergers and break-ups, victories and mistakes that shaped his rise in entertainment.

Ari Emanuel's Memoir and the WME Dispute

Interest in Meghan's relationship with Emanuel follows her signing with William Morris Endeavour, known as WME, in April 2023. The agency took on representation for Meghan and Archewell's entertainment-related interests.

Questions about the relationship intensified in early 2024 after reports of a disagreement between Meghan and Emanuel. An unnamed insider claimed, 'Ari was done with her' after an alleged dispute. That wording has not been independently verified, and the circumstances remain unclear.

WME later rejected reports that it had dropped Meghan. In February 2025, a representative for the agency said, 'WME continues to represent Meghan and Archewell.'

That statement is the clearest official position available. Reports at the time said WME was still involved in some Archewell projects, while unnamed sources disputed the extent of its involvement in Meghan's personal business.

More recent reporting has said Meghan's WME representation includes Carolyn Moneta and Ikenna Ezeh, primarily for acting opportunities. Those reports also said Emanuel was no longer involved in her day-to-day representation.

However, that account is based on industry sources rather than a detailed public statement from WME. A reported change in which agents handle Meghan is not the same as confirmation that WME ended its relationship with her or Archewell Productions.

Neither Meghan nor Prince Harry has publicly confirmed that Roll the Calls contains material about them. The publisher's description also does not identify either of them.

What Roll the Calls Promises

Emanuel's memoir is being presented as a personal account rather than a conventional business history. The official description portrays him as a dealmaker recounting the people and events behind major decisions in entertainment.

The book traces his career from working in the mailroom at Creative Artists Agency to co-founding Endeavour with three other agents. It also discusses his experience with dyslexia, family life, professional disputes and the creation of a major entertainment business.

Knopf describes the writing as 'punchy' and 'telegraphic', with 'disarming humility and ribald candour'. The publisher's copy also promises 'secrets' and 'stories'.

That language has encouraged speculation about possible revelations involving former clients. It does not, however, establish that Meghan or Harry appear in the memoir.

The publisher's description names figures including Larry David, Quentin Tarantino, Denzel Washington, Billie Eilish, Martin Scorsese and Oprah Winfrey. Meghan and Harry are not included in that published list.

Their omission does not prove they are absent. It does mean claims that the book contains a detailed account of the Sussexes should not be treated as confirmed unless supported by the memoir or a reliable source with direct knowledge.

Emanuel's public profile has added to the attention. He is widely identified as the inspiration for Ari Gold, the fictional talent agent played by Jeremy Piven in HBO's Entourage. His career has put him in contact with high-profile figures across entertainment, sports and business.

That makes the prospect of a candid memoir intriguing. It does not turn every online rumour into a fact.

Release Date Brings New Scrutiny

Roll the Calls is scheduled for publication on Tuesday, 22 September. The current Knopf listing gives the hardcover a length of 432 pages.

The book was written with J.R. Moehringer, who also collaborated with Prince Harry on his memoir, Spare. The connection is factual, but it does not establish that Roll the Calls contains confidential information about Harry or Meghan.

Nor does Moehringer's previous work with Harry demonstrate that he had access to private information about the couple while working on Emanuel's book. That leap would go beyond the evidence currently available.

Advance reviews have already appeared before the official release, including a review on 20 September. Some details may therefore enter public discussion before readers can buy the book themselves.

Even so, the central claim remains unverified. The publisher has confirmed the memoir's release date, authorship, length and broad subject matter. It has not confirmed that Meghan, Harry or Archewell Productions feature in the book.

The release will provide a clearer basis for assessing whether the Sussexes appear in Emanuel's account and, if they do, how they are portrayed.
