Arrow season 4
Oliver and Felicity in Arrow season 4 The CW

Arrow season 4 gave fans hope with images of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak's wedding but it turned out to be a fake marriage. They are in fact broken up as of now.

In the previous episode of Arrow, Felicity called off her engagement with Oliver after she found out that he had a son and had kept it a secret from her. But episode 16 of season 4, forced Felicity to walk down the aisle with Oliver, not for love but to take down Cupid. The villain is back in Star City and is killing every married couple, to take revenge on love.

So, the Arrow team set a trap for her and staged a private ceremony to draw Cupid out. The wedding featured an emotional wedding vow from Oliver, and Diggle and Thea are successful in taking down Cupid.

However, the most heart-breaking moment happened at the end of the episode, when Oliver asked Felicity to give him another chance. Felicity admitted that she still loves him, but they can't be together. She said, "I can't be with you, I can't marry you."

But Oliver fights for her and says, "Yes you can because that is what both of us wants. Things could be different, I could be different. I promise you there will be no more lies." But Felicity says he will always isolate himself and go back to the man he was on the island, and they will never work together as a couple. Their last conversation ends with Felicity saying that she is "already gone".

Oliver: I don't want to let you go.

Felicity: I don't want to let you go.. but I am already gone.

Is there hope for Olicity? The title of Arrow's upcoming episode teases hope for the couple. Episode 17 is titled, Beacon Of Hope, which will air on 30 March at 9pm EST on The CW. The episode will find Felicity in danger and Oliver will come running to help his lady love. Maybe the good old ritual of saving the girl from a villain will rekindle their love.

The official synopsis reads as follows:

Brie Larvan (guest star Emily Kinney) breaks out of jail and turns up at Palmer Tech threatening to kill everyone unless she gets the bio-chip that is implanted in Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) spine. When Oliver (Stephen Amell) realises that Felicity, Thea (Willa Holland) and Donna (guest star Charlotte Ross) are trapped in Palmer Tech with everyone else, he looks to a surprising ally to help Team Arrow save the day.
