Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists the fan who confronted him during his side's 2-0 loss at Southampton was not aggressive.

Towards the end of the match at St Mary's, a 25-year-old man rushed in to Wenger's dugout, before he was pulled away by stewards. Whilst police have said the man was an Arsenal fan who was sitting with the home followers, Wenger believed him to be a Southampton supporter, who, "was not aggressive at all".

Sadio Mane and Dusan Tadic capitalised on two mistakes from Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to run out 2-0 winners, a result that leaves the Saints two points clear of the Gunners in 4th position.

Despite this, Wenger refused to criticise his goalkeeper, though did admit that David Ospina would play in goal for his side's third round FA Cup tie at home to Hull City at the weekend.
