Australia Continue Dominance Over India in Twenty20
Australia take out a 31 run win to hold dominant position over India this summer
Australia have continued their dominance over India in the cricket, with Matthew Wade and Brad Hogg starring as the Aussies won the Twenty20 match-up in Sydney last night by 31 runs.
Wade scored a commanding 72 off 43 deliveries, and the man who was brought in to replace Brad Haddin showed how necessary he is to the squad, making a huge contribution to Australia's eventual 171-4 in 20 overs.
India started well, with Virat Kohli scorin 22 in the first over, but Hogg got a much needed wicket when David Waner caught the Indian on the boundary. It was the 40 year old's first wicket in Twenty20 cricket, in his third cap for the Australia side.
David Hussey also shone in the green and gold, scoring 42 off 30 balls, and also taking a catch as well as two wickets.
India could only make 140-6 in reply to Australia's score, and the record ANZ Stadium crowd of 59,659 got their moneys' worth from the hosts, who never looked out of control of the match.
For Australia, the match caps off a dominant few months over India, where the Aussies have been recapturing some of their top form once more.
