Overview

The Tridents are without a win in this year's Champions League T20 as they have suffered defeats in their first two matches.

A defeat in Mohali on Sunday will end the Caribbean side's hopes of making it to the last four of the competition.

They are at the bottom of the table and Rayad Emrit would be hoping for a win against the Hurricanes to keep their chances of progressing to the semi-final alive.

In the last fixture, they came close to registering their first win against Cape Cobras.

Barbados Tridents scored 174 from their 20 overs and the Cobras levelled the score, forcing the course of the game to be decided by Super Over. The South African side won the one-over eliminator, resulting in the Tridents' second straight defeat.

Meanwhile, Hobart Hurricanes are one win away from making it to the next round of the tournament. The clash on Sunday will be their last fixture this year.

A defeat against the Tridents will then see Tim Paine's side depend on the results of the other team to find out their fate if they have made it to the next round.

In the last fixture, the Australian side registered a comfortable 86-run victory over the Northern Knights.

The Hurricanes would be hoping for a similar result against a side that has failed to pick up even a single point so far in the Champions League T20.
