Power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z unveiled the first images of their newborn baby Blue Ivy Carter on the social networking site tumblr.

The couple posted five photos of intimate moments of their family and also posted a handwritten message next to the pictures saying: "We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family."

The pictures have been posted just days after Beyonce made her first public appearance on Monday night to support Jay-Z's two anticipated shows at Carnegie Hall to benefit United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. Beyonce gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter on Jan. 7

Earlier, in a bid to protect their daughter's name against others using it , Beyonce and Jay-Z are reported to have filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office . If their application is approved, the couple could use their daughter's name for a line of baby products.
