Boy George Falls for 'Poo Crave' Fake Ed Sheeran News as Macklemore's 'Free Palestine' Row Rumbles On

Boy George has been very active on X, particularly when commenting on musical artists involved in the Israel-Palestine debate. He openly criticised Macklemore for his 'Free Palestine' stance and initially rebuked Ed Sheeran for giving the rapper a platform.

Since Macklemore's removal from Sheeran's Loop Tour, Boy George has shifted to a more supportive tone towards Sheeran. In one of his many tweets on 16 September 2026, he replied to a post from Poo Crave, a satirical and parody account.

Boy George Now Supports Ed Sheeran

Poo Crave, which has the same styling as Pop Crave, tweeted on 15 September 2026: 'Ed Sheeran announces he will be replacing Macklemore as his headliner with Israeli pop star Netta Barzilai.'

'Like this move! Come on, Ed Sheeran...' Boy George replied to the tweet. On 10 September 2026, Boy George criticised Sheeran for being 'fake' as he allowed Macklemore to deliver his 'Free Palestine' speech for two straight nights of the American leg of his tour.

Macklemore has since been removed from the tour, and Boy George has taken a more supportive view of Sheeran.

'Well done to Ed Sheeran for going on stage with his guitar and proving that he can perform solo,' Boy George also tweeted. It was unclear what Boy George was referring to but many pointed out that the viral video of Sheeran performing on stage without a band was not from his ongoing Loop Tour.

One-Man Band

Sheeran is used to performing alone with a loop pedal. However, for the Loop Tour, he was often joined on stage by the Irish folk group Beoga, which quit the tour after Macklemore was removed. Beoga, along with Finneas, Lukas Graham and Aaron Rowe, withdrew from the tour following Macklemore's removal.

Left without a backing band, people are wondering if Sheeran would perform solo again. His next scheduled performance is on Saturday, 19 September 2026.

'I thought he was wrong not to speak out against the rapper hijacking his shows but he got rid of him and a bunch of spineless rats followed... Each one more dumb than the last,' Boy George also said about Sheeran.

Singer Criticises Palestine Supporters

The Culture Club singer spent hours replying to dozens of tweets on Thursday, 17 September 2026. Singer Becky Hill paused her performance to say: 'We must keep raising our voices against the war crimes and genocide being committed in Palestine. Free Palestine. Free Sudan. Free Congo.'

To that, Boy George asked: 'Another chancer?' When a social media user shared a photo of Ms Rachel, another public figure who has spoken about Palestine, the singer replied: 'I prefer my dust-buster.'

He also replied to a post where Grammy-winner Annie Lennox said: 'The genocide in Gaza is genocide... And it's not over yet... It's a deliberate, long-term plan to wipe out Palestinians...'

He also called Hayley Williams an 'idiot' for saying 'Free Palestine' during her solo concert. At one point, he even said he wanted to be included in a photo grid featuring celebrities who the post described as Zionists.

Boy George said his criticism of pro-Palestine supporters was borne out of solidarity with his Jewish friends. However, the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism states: 'Criticism of Israel as a state, or supporting the Palestinian demand for justice and full political, national, civil and human rights, is not on the face of it antisemitic.'
