BREAKING NEWS: 15-Year-Old Schoolgirl Shot Dead in London Named

The 15-year-old schoolgirl shot dead at a Hackney house has been named locally as Shereka Marsh. Police went to an address near Eastway, Hackney close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, after reports of a shooting. They called London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy were arrested at the scene and are being questioned at an east London police station. A handgun was reportedly recovered from the scene.
Tributes to Shereka have appeared on social networking sites and within a short time of her identity being released some 5,000 "likes" had appeared on a R.I.P. Shereka page on Facebook.
One tribute read:
"Rip beautiful, you are up there, God needed you to take care of the angels. but you didnt have to die this way, Rest in peace Beautiful Angel"

On Twitter Hackney Labour councillor Patrick Vernon spoke of his shock at discovering the news about someone he had met only a few days previously when she was part of a team from Urswick School that welcomed visiting dignitaries including the Jamaican High Commissioner, Aloun Ndombet-Assambaand.
Councillor Vernon wrote: "I remember speaking to her she had big plans for the future. What a waste of talent& life!! We must stop this!"
A police cordon remains in place around the house in Hackney where the incident occurred. Police have appealed for anyone with any information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
