Three members of a British family were found dead on Wednesday (June 26) in Spain's Costa del Sol.

Spanish civil guard (police) said the family of three, believed to be a couple and their daughter, who was in her 20s, were found dead with gunshot wounds in their rented house in Mijas, Malaga.

According to the civil guard, their landlord visited the family around midday after failing to contact them by phone. He called the civil guard after finding the man dead. The bodies of the rest of the family were found by civil guard officers in other rooms of house.

Police said there was no sign of a struggle in the apartment. The Foreign Office said the matter was being investigated.
