Danny Hoesen
Hoesen makes it two for Ajax.

21:41: A strange old night in the Champions League. Chelsea are through to the knock-out stage but only by virtue of Steaua's draw with Schalke. Despite moving onto 12 points, Arsenal are not yet assured a place in the last 16 after beating Dortmund while Celtic's dreams in the Champions League and Europa League are over after crashing to defeat to AC Milan.

I hope you've enjoyed the live coverage of another Champions League matchday. We'll be back tomorrow, but until then goodbye.

21:32: Chelsea have been shoddy from start to finish and they have been punished three minutes from time. Salah drifts in behind Branislav Ivanovic, draws Petr Cech and tucks into the corner. Jose Mourinho could smell the last 16.

Goal: FC Basel 1-0 Chelsea (Mohamed Salah)

21:29: Every goal in Group F is changing the complexion of the group and Dortmund's third goal is vital in their hopes of reaching the last 16. Arsenal facing a mathematical headache, even with 12 points, on matchday six, it seems.

Goal: Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Napoli (Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang)

21:19: Wojciech Szczesny keeps Arsenal two up with a cracking low save. Chelsea have produced very little meanwhile in Switzerland, but a point is all they need to go through.

Goal: Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Napoli (Lorenzo Insigne)

21:08: Arsenal double their lead with a beautifully worked second. Ramsey feeds Ozil on the left-hand channel of the penalty area and his ball across the box finds Wilshere, who powers the ball into the net.

Goal: Arsenal 2-0 Marseille (Jack Wilshere)

Goal: Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Napoli (Jakub Błaszczykowski)

21:04: Excellent goal from Milan and the points are safe at Celtic Park. The ball is played over the top throught to Mario Balotelli, who shrugs off the defender and slide past Forster.

Goal: Celtic 0-3 AC Milan (Mario Balotelli)

21:00: Worth mentioning that Ajax had a man sent off in the lead-up to Xavi halving the deficit in their group game with Barcelona. Result heavily affects both Celtic and AC Milan.

20:58: Been anything but a perfect evening for Mesut Ozil, and he's denied by Mandanda again as he stroles through, with his effort turned behind. Arsenal, you feel, need a second here.

In switzerland, Eden Hazard replaces Oscar.

20:55: The sucker punch from Milan and that might see to Celtic in this year's competition. Nocerino thumps the ball back from where it came from a corner, and Zapata is on hand to tap into an empty net. Soft goal.

Goal: Ajax 2-1 Barcelona (Xavi)

Goal: Celtic 0-2 AC Milan (Zapata)

20:52: Unbelieable chance for Celtic to level. A free-kick from the left is blocked but the ball back in catches out the entire Milan defence and Van Dijk steels in and thumps a volley straight at Abbiati

Goal: FC Porto 1-1 Austria Vienna (Jackson Martinez)

20:48: Second halfs underway in London, Porto and Bucharest.

20:35: So, half-time across Europe and contrasting fortunes for three British clubs. Arsenal lead through Jack Wilshere's 31-second opened but look likely to miss out on a last 16 place tonight. Chelsea are so far on course to get the point required to qualify but they've being made to work by an effective Basel side. Meanwhile, things are going from bad to worse for Celtic, who trail to AC Milan while Ajax are beating Barcelona. Both the last 16 and the Europa League are slipping away.

20:28: Fernando Torres on for Samuel Eto'o, who is stretchered off after picking up an innocuous looking thigh injury, with three second half minutes remaining.

Goal: Ajax 2-0 Barcelona (Danny Hoesen)

20:25: Messy football at the Emirates. Giroud is fouled after knocking the ball over the defender and the referee gives a penalty despite the challenge taking place outside the area. Mesut Ozil steps up but his effort is saved by Steve Mandanda. Justice done in the end.

Mesut Ozil penalty saved

Penalty for Arsenal

20:19: Celtic have really impressed in the first half against Milan but have nothing to show for it. Joe Ledley is on for Kayal as Neil Lennon's side continue to go on the attack. Still 1-0 down and as things stand, the knock-out phase looks a distant dream.

20:12: Looks like a matter of time until Basel take the lead against Chelsea. The hosts are cutting Jose Mourinho's side apart but without finding the finishing touch. Petr Cech has come to their rescue on three occasions. Visitors have to pull themselves together if they want to confirm qualifcation tonight.

20:10: Not all plain sailing for Arsenal and Marseille create half a chance through Gignac but Sczcesny smoothers the ball.

Back to Switzerland and Cech makes another tremendous save to keep out Basel, and Salah once again. Chelsea hanging on.

Goal: Ajax 1-0 Barcelona (Thulani Serero)

20:03: More Basel pressure and another Cech save. Salah shoots from outside the box and Cech is forced to tip over, albeit with ease. Chelsea by no means settled here.

20:06: Another let off for Chelsea who are living dangerously against Basel. A corner, this time from the right beats the near post and Voser gets a toe-end on the ball and Mikel must clear off the line. A brief spell of possession for Chelsea now though, and Eto'o almost gets on the end of Ivanovic's right-wing cross.

20:00: A decent start for Celtic has been undone by an easy opener for Milan. A right-wing corner is floated in and Kaka is unmarked and he guides a header into the corner. The Italian's ahead.

Goal: Celtic 0-1 AC Milan (Kaka)

Goal: Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Napoli (Marco Reus)

Goal: FC Porto 0-1 Austria Vienna (Roman Kienast)

19:54: Petr Cech comes to Chelsea's rescue in Switzerland. Streller darts towards the near post from a corner and in almost a carbon-copy of the goal he scored at Stamford Bridge heads goalwards but the Chelsea stopper is equal to it.

19:49: Celtic have had most of the ball in the early stages against Milan but the first chance has fallen the Serie A side's way as Balotelli gets away but shoots woefully wide.

19:48: Arsenal ahead inside 31 seconds through a brilliant Jack Wilshere strike. He bursts away down the left, cuts inside and curls one into the far corner from 17 yards. Outstanding start for the hosts.

Goal: Arsenal 1-0 Marseille (Jack Wilshere)

19:46: Underway across Europe

19:44: Those eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that Zenit have already drawn with Atletico Madrid in the early game on matchday five. While Atletico are already safe and dry in the last 16, the point damages the Russian's hopes of progressing from the group, with Porto likely to leap-frog them tonight with a win. It's all go.

19:42: Teams are in the tunnel across Europe. I'm due a few goals in the Champions League after one of two dodgy nights under my watch. Almost ready to go.

19:32: So our main focus tonigth will as ever centre around the British clubs. it's a big night for Arsenal, Chelsea and Celtic tonight. All the goals and action from the other games around Europe. I'll as ever attempt to keep you abreast of who is going through/out up/down. Strap in.

19:16: A Few permutations while we're waiting for the teams across Europe to sort themselves out.

In Group E, Chelsea will qualify with a point over FC Basel. A win for the Blues in Switzerland means Schalke can qualify as runners up if they can beat Steaua.

In Group F, things are slightly more complicated. Arsenal must better Borussia Dortmund's result over Napoli if they're to qualify tonight. A win for the Gunners, and at least a point for Napoli in Germany will be enough to see both sides through and knock-out the Champions League runners-up.

In Group G, after Zenit drew with already qualified Atletico Madrid, no team can book their place in the knock-out phase but Porto must surely beat Vienna if they're to stand any chance, with the Russian's facing the group whipping boys on matchday six.

In Group F, AC Milan can join Barcelona is the last 16 if they beat Celtic and the Catalans defeat Ajax.

19:12: Teams:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Ozil, Giroud.

Marseille: Mandanda, Abdallah, Nkoulou, Mendes, Morel, Lemina, Romao, Imbula, J.Ayew, Gignac, Khalifa.

FC Basel: Sommer, Ivanov, Voser, Schär, Serey Die, Stocker, Frei, Salah, Elneny, Xhaka, Streller

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Mikel, Lampard, Ramires, Oscar, Willian, Eto'o.

Celtic: Forster, Izaguirre, Ambrose, Van Dijk, Mulgrew, Lustig, Commons, Kayal, Samaras, Boerrigter, Forrest

AC Milan: Abbiati, Zapata, Abate, Bonera, Birsa, Poli, Montolivo, Emanuelson, De Jong, Kaká, Balotelli

19:00: The international break firmly behind us, domestic leagues taking shape across the continent, it's now time to sort out the knock-out phase of the Champions League. Just Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have booked their place in the last 16 but five sides can join them tonight. So much on the line tonight as Europe's premier competition returns.
