    • FC Nordsjaelland vs Chelsea and CFR Cluj vs Manchester United
    • Celtic beat Spartak Moscow 3-2 in Russia
    • 7 Champions League games kicking-off from 7.45pm BST

2140: So there we have it. Three wins for the British sides as Manchester United have Van Persie to thank for sitting top of the group. Chelsea made hard work of their game for more than 80 minutes, before three late goals meant they also moved to top of the group. Performance of the night goes to Celtic though who achieved their first ever away win in the Champions League as Samaras scored a late winner.

2135: GOAL: Definitely no comeback for Bayern as BATE score a third on the counter with Renan Bressan taking full advantage of the German side pushing forward and cooly finishes for a superb win.

2134: GOAL: Bayern manage to get one back but they still trail BATE who could claim their first ever home victory in the Champions League. Ribery gets the goal but it looks like too little too late.

2130: GOAL: The Blues have answered my call for some goals as Oscar links with Torres and the Brazilian puts one on a plate for his international team-mate Ramires who puts the ball in an empty net.

2124: GOAL: And it is Chelsea again. Juan Mata plays a one two with a defender and cooly slots home. Easy win in the end of the defending champions.

2123: GOAL: Chelsea double their advantage thanks to Brazilian centre-back David Luiz who smashes a free-kick past a helpess keeper.

2122: GOAL: We most definitely have a shock on the cards with Bayern Munich now 2-0 down against BATE Borisov. Rodionov is the scorer this time and its a superb finish after being pressured by two defenders.

2120: We have a horrific injurt in the Barcelona game as Puyol lands heavily on his arm and it is most definitely broke. A sickening sight for all the players and this is a nasty injury. He will be out for some time.

2116: GOAL: Just as I begin to complain my prayers are answered as Valencia double their advantage and once again it is Jonas with the goal. He has linked superbly well with Soldado all night but this is a solo effort as he looks to cross but it drifts over the keeper and into the far corner.

2115: We have had a very quiet period for the last 15 minutes with not a single goal to report. Surely there is time for Van Persie to get a hat-trick, or for Messi to round off his superb display with a goal.

2058: GOAL: What a goal that is from Barcelona as Messi goes on a supern run beating numerous defenders before feeding Cesc Fabregas who fired home on his left-foot.

2050: GOAL: Robin van Persie scores again to hand United the lead and will that now open the floodgates. It is a fantastic finish on the volley with the outside of his boot after a superb ball from Rooney.

2032: HALF TIME: Well I am not sure many people would have predicted United going behind to Cluj, but once again Fergie's men have responded. They will want to turn it on in the second half, while Chelsea have dominated proceedings and could have had more than just the one goal had they taken their chances.

2024: GOAL: Valencia have taken the lead over Lille and we now have a goal in every game tonight and it is Jonas that hands the Spanish side the lead. A lovely one-two between the goalscorer and Roberto Soldado on the edge of the area leads to a smart finish from the number 7.

2018: GOAL: Chelsea take the lead through Juan Mata after Torres steals the ball off the defender and the feeds Lampard who in turn gives the ball to Mata who slots home. It was a terrific ball from Lampard, perfectly timed and weighted.

2015: GOAL: Manchester United find the equaliser as Robin van Persie finds the back of the net. A good ball from Rooney finds the Dutchman and he shoulders the ball over Mário Felgueiras to level proceedings.

2013: GOAL: Braga take the lead. Ruben Micael is the goalscorer.

2011: GOAL: What a reponse from Juventus who immediately reply and get back on level terms thanks to a clever corner which is cut back to Bonucci who fires a superb strike home.

2009: GOAL: Alex Teixeira makes it 1-0 to Shakhtar Donetsk and Juventus find themselves trailing once again. Good new for Chelsea this one. The forward is fed the ball by felow Brazilian Willian, who was linked with Spurs in the summer, and fires a powerful shot past Buffon.

2009: GOAL: BATE take the lead against last years finalists Bayern Munich who had been dominating the game. Ovlov is the man with the calm finish.

1959: GOAL: Could we have a shock on the cards as Cluj take the lead against Manchester United. Pantelis Kapetanos hands his side the lead after good work from Sougou who fires the ball across the penalty box and it is steered past a helpess David De Gea. Huge moment for the Romanian champions.

1952: GOAL: We have only gone and called it. Barcelona take the lead after just six minutes as Lionel Messi gets to the byline before crossing for Alexi Sanchez to poke home for his first goal of the season.

1947: All seven games have now begun and we await our first goal of the night. We are going out on a limb and our going to predict an early strike in the Barcelona game.

1944: Just a little stat before we get under way. Benfica play Barcelona tonight and they do not have a single Portuguese player in their side. There is one Serbian and 10 players from South America.

1943: The Champions League theme is booming out around Europe as we look forward to another night of great action. Both English sides are expected to win tonight but could Cluj or Nordsjaelland provide a major shock?

1940: So United field three striker tonight and show their intent with Hernandez, Rooney and Van Persie starting together for the first time. Cluj may have won their opening Champions League game 2-0 but Braga did have some 30 efforts on goal. If United are afforded that luxury then we could be in for some serious entertainment.

1930: Welcome to our live coverage of tonights Champions League action which sees Chelsea travelling to little known Danish side FC Nordsjaellan, while Manchester United will expect to get a result against CFR Cluj, despite resting the likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. We have already had one early kick off and it is good news for British clubs as Celtic scored a last minute winner to secure a 3-2 victory over Spartak Moscow.

Celtic earned the three points thanks to goals from Gary Hooper, an own goal from Dmitri Kombarov and a late strike from Georgios Samaras, after the Scottish champions had gone 2-1 down thanks to a brace from Emmanuel Emenike.
