Meanwhile, a comfortable win for Mumbai Indians over Sunrisers Hyderabad on 17 May not only helped them seal a place in the top four, but also confirmed a second place finish. This has seen them take on Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier.

Sunrisers were bowled out for 113 runs and in reply, Mumbai easily chased down the target and won by nine wickets with over six overs to spare. This helped Rohit Sharma's side oust Royal Challengers Bangalore from second place.

The winner of the clash will make it to the final, while the losing team will face the winner of the Eliminator between Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on 22 May.
