Cheryl Cole's secret Caribbean wedding to French boyfriend Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini is reportedly not yet registered.

The 31-year-old star tied the knot with her French boyfriend, 33, in a ceremony on the Caribbean island of Mustique last week but they are yet to make their marriage official.

According to The Sun, the couple is yet to make their union official in the eyes of the government, due to confusion over Fernandez-Versini's full name.

Officials at the Caribbean Births, Marriages and Deaths Department in Kingstown are reportedly having problems getting to grips with the French restauranteur's real name, as well as the handwriting of the original marriage certificate that the pair received in Mustique.

They said that the groom's name as written on the marriage certificate reads: "Jean-Bernard Justin Antoine Aime Bastien Thierry".

A clerk from the office told The Sun: "we need to know the spelling of his names before we can process the documents and register the marriage."

Meanwhile, the part-time pastor who oversaw the ceremony - Devon R Ollivierre - has now revealed he had no idea Cheryl was famous and claimed he wouldn't have gone ahead with the nuptials if he'd known about her previous marriage to former England soccer star Ashley Cole.

He told the Daily Mirror: "I came to understand she was a singer but I didn't know who she was. She just told me she wanted something modest."

Pastor Devon said: "They looked incredible. It seemed intense. There were no tears and they didn't seem nervous, it was very natural."

"With the way they were dressed, the white sand and the way they were speaking to each other, it was lovely," he added.
