R'n'B superstar Chris Brown will spend a month in jail after violating the terms of his parole.

The Fine China hitmaker was denied bail after being thrown out of a court-ordered rehab program for the second time.

He was arrested on 14 March just hours after the facility in Malibu gave him his walking papers for repeatedly breaking the rules.

Brown is said to have got too close to a woman, refused to take a drugs test upon on his return from an authorised outing and also had an outburst during a group therapy session.

According to TMZ, the judge decided to make an example of Rihanna's ex-boyfriend because of his "inability to stay out of trouble". He is expected to stay locked up until his next court hearing on 23 April.

Brown's legal woes have gotten progressively worse since he was convicted for attacking Rihanna after a pre-Grammy bash in 2009.

In October, he allegedly punched Parker Adams outside a nightclub in Washington DC, thus violating his probation.

Although he agreed to check himself into rehab as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors, he was kicked out within weeks for throwing a brick at his mother's car during an altercation.

Earlier this month, the 24-year-old was diagnosed with bipolar disorder by doctors at the facility.

"Mr Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD," court documents stated.

His incarceration is likely to mean that highly-anticipated sixth studio album, X will be pushed back. It has been scheduled for release this summer.
