Overview

The Royals come into this game after their 30 run victory over Highveld Lions in the Group A fixture. Rahul Dravid's men were made to bat by the visitors as they went to post a total of 183 for the loss of five wickets after the end of 20 overs.

Dravid (31), Shane Watson (33) and Stuart Binny (38) made sure they kept their ground before Brad Hodge's brilliant knock of 46 from 23 deliveries saw the host put on a huge total. In reply, the Lions were able to manage 153 while losing six wickets in the process.

Meanwhile, the Australian side enter this fixture after their defeat against Otago Volts by 62 runs. The Scorchers won the toss and decided to field first. Derek de Boorder's side went on to post a mammoth 242 runs on board, with their opening batsman Neil Broom remaining unbeaten at the end 117 runs from 56 balls.

The Scorchers saw two of their top order batsmen Liam David and their skipper Simon Katichbeing dismissed cheaply at the start of their innings. Hilton Cartwright tried to fight in the middle for his side with an unbeaten knock of 68. However, he was the only player to get going with the bat; resulting Scorchers suffer a 62 run defeat.

The visitors are yet to taste victory in the 2013 CL T20, which has seen them sit at the bottom with two points after two games. Rajasthan on the other hand sit at the top of Group A with eight points after winning the first two games against Mumbai Indians and the Lions.
