Crystle Stewart says she does not curse in real life, making her portrayal of foul-mouthed Beauty in Black character Mallory Bellarie a sharp contrast to her everyday personality. The actress revealed that playing the explosive character has even required her to adjust to Mallory's profanity.

During an appearance on The Collection with Brad Gilmore, Stewart recalled accidentally saying 'darn it' instead of 'damn it' while filming as Mallory. Tyler Perry reacted when Stewart used the softer expression, prompting her to stop and 'zone back' into Mallory before continuing.

Stewart Had To Learn Mallory's Profanity

Stewart explained that she does not normally curse, while Perry has Mallory's voice firmly established. The character, she said, 'curses like a sailor', making profanity an important part of how Mallory expresses herself.

That difference became obvious during the 'darn it' incident. Stewart said Perry reacted immediately upon hearing the softer wording, prompting her to pause and reset before continuing.

Stewart then had to get back into the character's mindset before delivering the scene again.

The moment highlights how far Mallory is removed from Stewart's own personality. While profanity is not part of the actress's everyday speech, it has become part of the character's aggressive and confrontational presence on screen.

Mallory Is Almost the Opposite of Stewart

She also recalled filming particularly intense scenes, including Mallory pouring hot coffee on Felicia and driving an SUV through a house. Stewart said she sometimes takes a few minutes to reset after particularly emotional or heated scenes.
