Deepika Padukone, who is currently promoting her next big film, Happy New Year, with Shahrukh Khan, has reportedly turned down an offer for a film opposite Salman Khan.
According to Movie Talkies, sources claim that Padukone refused the role opposite the Kick star in the new film titled 'Sultan' to be produced by Yash Raj Films, (which made spy thriller, Ek Tha Tiger).
This is the second time the star has turned down a chance to work with Khan. She was earlier approached to perform an item song in his last film Kick, but she reportedly declined the offer back then as well.
It is unclear why Padukone would miss opportunities to be part of a big Salman Khan film. One reason could be that she is busy with other projects.
The actress, who has been part of two hugely successful films with Shah Rukh Khan (Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express) is currently busy with HNY promotions and will soon be working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next period drama, Bajirao Mastani, with her rumoured boyfriend Ranveer Singh.
Happy New Year will be released on 23 October.
