The Duke of Edinburgh, who underwent a coronary stent operation last week, was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.

Prince Philip (90) was admitted to Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire on Friday, following complaints of chest pain.

The prince, who missed the Royal family's Christmas celebrations, would now stay in the family's Sandringham estate in Norfolk. He has been advised rest.

A BBC report quoted Buckingham Palace as saying that no decision had been taken on how soon the Duke would resume public engagements or whether he would attend Sunday's service at St Mary Magdalene church on the Sandringham estate.

The Prince has attended more than 300 engagements in past 12 months. He does not have any public engagement lined up in the next two weeks, according to the BBC.
