KEY POINTS

  • Salah has enjoyed a great start to his Liverpool career with 17 goals in 22 games.
  • The Egyptian has already been linked with a move to La Liga.

Egypt head coach Hector Cuper has confirmed that La Liga champions Real Madrid are interested in the services of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been in red-hot form for Liverpool with 17 goals in his first 22 appearances, including 12 league goals in 15 games, currently standing as the Premier League's top scorer.

The Egyptian will also be featuring for his national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia after helping them qualify back in October as Salah's stock continues to grow with each passing week.

Despite only joining Anfield in the summer, the 25-year-old has already been linked with a move away to Spain.

Former Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas recently claimed that if the Liverpool man scored more than 20 goals in all competitions, he could potentially be worth up to €150m (£134m, $179m), with a move to Spain looking likely to be his next destination.

Egypt legend Mido has also been impressed with the former Roma man's form, predicting that his fellow countryman will make a move to Real Madrid in the future.

The latest indication is from Cuper, who confirmed that Los Blancos are interested in adding Salah to their already well-equipped squad.

"I have been told in confidence that Real Madrid are interested in Salah, but we aren't going to get worked up about it," Cuper told On Sports TV via FourFourTwo.

"For me, it is an incredible situation at this point in time."

Salah's focus after the domestic season will be on the World Cup though, as he will link up with Cuper in the summer with Egypt facing Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group A.
