David Furnish and Elton John

The handbags are out again after Elton John reignited his feud with old sparring partner Madonna following a bitchy comment on Good Morning America.

Elton was asked on the show if he had any advice for her in the build-up to her Super Bowl gig.

"Make sure you lip-sync good," he quipped.

It was the latest in a string of claims by him that she lip-syncs her live shows.

The Super Bowl show will be broadcast to more than one billion people internationally and is being headlined by the Queen of Pop – Madonna, that is, not Elton.

This latest row comes on the back of their infamous spat at the Golden Globe awards where they were both nominated for best original song.

On the way in, Elton said: "Madonna doesn't have a f*****g chance."

She did win the award for her song Masterpiece, however.

When he received an award later in the evening, he used his time on the stage to publically assassinate Madonna's Best Live Act.

"Madonna: best f***ing live act? F*** off! Since when has lip-synching been live? That's me off her f***ing Christmas card list but do I give a toss? No."

In response, Madonna's management sent out a statement the following day claiming that the singer does not lip-sync.

A management spokeswoman: "Elton remains on her Christmas card list whether he is nice or naughty."

David Furnish, Elton John's husband, took to Facebook after the ceremony to vent his anger at the decision.

He wrote on the social networking site: "Madonna. Best song???? F*** off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."
