Hundreds of white-bearded and red-suited Santas gathered at Trafalgar Square in honour of SantaCon -- a boozy festival which happens every year.

The organisers say that the event started as a pub crawl is "non-denominational, non-commercial, non-political and nonsensical" and is celebrated across the cities, including London, New York and San Francisco, according to the Daily Mail.

The Father Christmas flash mob spread Christmas cheer by distributing gifts and singing Christmas carols. 'It's the only day when it's OK to dress like this and not have people look at you like you have five heads," one of the participants was quoted as saying by NY Daily News.
