HTC announces Desire 825
HTC has rolled out the Marshmallow update for the Desire 820 model HTC

HTC has started rolling out Android's 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to all its HTC Desire 820 users. The update also brings along the 7.0 version of the company's customised UI, Sense.

The latest update for the device measures around 75.61MB, which makes it quite compact compared to what other devices have been receiving. The update rolling out is an over-the-air one but it is not sure if it has been rolled out to all regions. Carrier specific models in the US for instance will receive the update later as per their carrier's schedules.

Android's Marshmallow update brings along an array of features like now on tap, doze mode, app permissions, etc. Along with that, HTC's Sense UI 7.0 version also encompasses some upgrades like app unbundling, customised navigation settings, quick settings, new widgets, BlinkFeed additions and more.

The HTC Desire 820 model is a relatively old one, released in 2014 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Prior to this, the company rolled out the Marshmallow version to its other models like the One M8 Dual, One A9, One M9, One (E8), One (M8 Eye), Desire Eye and the Desire 816. However, some devices like the HTC Butterfly 3 and HTC Desire 826 are yet to receive the latest update even though they have been approved for the update.

If you have not yet received the latest Marshmallow update on your 820 you can even check the status of the update manually. Just go to Settings>About Phone>System updates and check if the update notification reflects there. If not, you will just have to be patient until it is released for your device.
