Inter Milan are set to beat Arsenal in the race to sign highly rated Argentine Ricky Alvarez from Velez Sarsfield. The Argentine has been subject of interest from both Arsenal and Palermo but it has emerged the Italian giants are the favourites to sign the player. Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has said that his club is out of the race to sign the player and believes he has been told the player will move to the San Siro. "We were close to signing [Ricky] Alvarez for half the price they will now pay for him but my colleagues took it easy and no agreement was reached," Zamparini bemoaned to Sky Italia. He continued: "Where he will go? He was going to sign for Arsenal but Inter Milan have made a move and that is where I believe he will go."

Inter will be expected to pay around £25m for the player but the vast majority of that figure will be come from add-on clauses and incentives. It will be a further blow for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who has been priced out of the market for one his top transfer targets.

Highly rated Belgian winger Eden Hazard looks set to make his move to Inter Milan despite attention from Chelsea and PSG. The winger, who helped Lille to win the French League title last season, has declared that he wants to play for one of Europe's premier clubs and Inter lead the race to sign him. French newspaper L'Equipe has reported that Inter have recently contacted the player's representatives about a potential move to Italy. It would take a big offer to tempt Lille to part with their prized asset, not least because he is under contract until 2015. And it is thought Lille will only consider bids in excess of €40million (£36m).

According to Goal.com, Valencia midfielder Ever Banega is on the radar of Italian giants Inter Milan, who are looking to regain their title from current champions AC Milan in the next season. The former Boca Juniors midfielder had established himself at Valencia in the last two seasons. The tenacious midfielder is a player who keeps it simple and is noted for his work rate and passing ability.

Also the midfielder is excellent in breaking up play and though he can further improve, it could be an investment for the future as well for Inter Milan as the Argentina International is only 23 years old and still there is a long way to go in his career. Banega is currently waiting for his EU passport, having spent three years in Spain and is currently competing in the Copa America.

According to the La Gazzetta Sportiva, the Spanish club, which are in financial difficulties, have reportedly told Inter Milan that the midfielder will cost them £8.1 million and it is uncertain whether Inter Milan will bid the required amount in order to bring the midfielder to the San Siro.
