Overview

The Tallawahs, winners of the inaugural Caribbean Premier League, are facing a must win game if they are to qualify for the final on 7 August. The Tallawahs outfit come into the clash on the back of a four-wicket loss to Guyana Amazon Warriors in playoff one.

The Jamaican team's form, especially of the batsmen, has dipped as the tournament has progressed. They will be particularly worried by the performances of skipper Chris Gayle and keeper Kumar Sangakkara, their two most accomplished batsmen.

Gayle, who started off the 2016 CPL with a bang by scoring his 18th T20 international century, has scored only one 50-plus score since while Sangakkara despite having 265 runs to his name has not produced the match-winning innings he is capable of.

Pace bowler Kesrick Williams has led the attack, taking 15 wickets, including a tournament best of 4/37 against the Guyana Amazon Warriors in their last game. The onus will be on Andre Russell and spinner Shakib Al Hassan to give him support in this crucial game.

Brendon McCullum

Defending champions Knight Riders come into this game after a much deserved five-wicket win over St Lucia Zouks on 4 August. The dangerous Brendon McCullum finally performed, scoring an unbeaten 49 to take his team to victory.

In McCullum, Hashim Amla, Umar Akmal, Colin Munro, Sunil Narine and skipper Dwayne Bravo, the Knight Riders have arguably the best side in the tournament, but have not performed collectively as a team so far.
