Justin Bieber is "upset" that ex-flame Selena Gomez skipped the Met Gala after-party on 2 May because the Same Old Love singer did not want to encounter the 22-year-old's another former girlfriend — Hailey Baldwin. The Come And Get It singer instead attended the Vogue magazine's after-party, where she was spotted taking pictures in a photo booth with her girl pals.

"Justin was really looking forward to spending time with Selena in New York," a source told HollywoodLife. "They had communicated via text the day of the Met Gala and he was under the impression that they would be seeing each other at the Up & Down after-party."

"He [Justin Bieber] was really excited to see Selena and impress her with his sharp new look, and she ended up being a complete no show," the source added. "Her explanation was she simply changed her mind." The gossip site had also previously reported that the 23-year-old skipped the after-party held at The Boom Boom Room because she "didn't want to be there with Justin and Hailey" as it "would just be way too uncomfortable".

"Justin realized it was obviously because of Hailey being at the same party, but he has reassured Selena countless times that he's not in relationship with anyone. Justin claims he went to the party with some guy friends, not Hailey," the source said.

"Justin knows he won't be seeing Selena for a while now," the source said. "He's super frustrated and upset with the way things went down with her. And when he's feels out of control, he tends to take it out on his fans or anyone that gets in his space. He really had his heart set on spending time with Selena."

The former couple had sparked romance rumours after Bieber shared a throwback kissing photo of the two on Instagram in March, which was "liked" by Gomez, who even wrote: "Perfect". Since then the two have been spotted a few times at music events.

Bieber and Gomez dated from 2010 until 2014 before they went their separate ways.
