Overview

Japan's Nishikori will look to continue his impressive form when he takes on Serbian Troicki on 10 May (Tuesday). The world number six comes into this tournament on the back of an impressive showing at the recently concluded Madrid Masters, where he lost to Novak Djokovic in the semi-final.

The highlight of that tournament, though, was his clash against another rising star — Australian Nick Krygios. The duo put on a show not seen for sometime. No wonder, many believe Nishikori will go on to achieve great things on the court. For now, though, he will know he has to concentrate and conserve his energy for the bigger matches to come.

Troicki, a former top 20 player, has been on a poor form for quiet sometime, not having won back-to-back matches since February. The 30-year-old was ranked 12 at his peak five years ago and since then has failed to live up to his potential. It is unlikely that he will beat Nishikori here.
