League Cup
The draw for the second round of the League Cup has been made.

Newport County will celebrate their first season back in the Football League for a quarter of a century with a League Cup visit to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in the pick of the League Cup second round draw.

The Exiles dumped out Brighton and Hove Albion in round one and will be hoping to achieve another giant-killing.

Fellow League Two side Accrington Stanley will host top flight new boys Cardiff City while Morecambe will host Newcastle United and Burton Albion play Fulham.

Bury, relegated from League One last season, face Norwich City and Cheltenham Town are paired with West Ham United.

Burnley and Preston North End will square off in a Lancashire derby while the Britannia Stadium will host a Midlands derby between Stoke City and Walsall.

Other stand-out ties include Doncaster Rovers playing Leeds United in an all-Yorkshire affair, Paulo di Canio's Sunderland hosting Milton Keynes Dons and Peterborough United hosting Reading.

Sides involved in European competition this season, including holders Swansea City and FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic are omitted until the third round stage.

The ties will be played the week commencing 26 August.
