Leicester City host Chelsea for the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday (20 September) as Antonio Conte looks to bounce back following a weekend loss to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Both teams are likely to make a host of changes for the fixture, with league results likely to take precedence for them.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is at 7.45pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be available on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

Leicester City will be buoyed following their 3-0 win over Burnley in the weekend and a first European win over Club Brugge in midweek. The Foxes had a difficult start to their title defence campaign, losing to Hull City and Liverpool in the league, along with a draw against Tottenham Hotspur over the course of the past month.

Manager Claudio Ranieri is likely to make a host of changes to keep the squad fresh, with a game against Manchester United also scheduled for next weekend. New signing Islam Slimani scored a double on his debut last weekend and is expected to make the squad as Ranieri looks to get him into the system.

Meanwhile, Conte will also be desperate to get his team back on track after a humbling 2-1 loss to Liverpool, their first in the Premier League this season. The Blues are without European action for the season and can utilise their squad to challenge on three fronts, something that Leicester can ill afford, given the size of their squad.

John Terry is back in full training, but is likely to sit out of the fixture, in anticipation of their game against Arsenal next weekend at the Emirates. David Luiz, who had a forgettable outing against the Reds, is expected to start at the back alongside Gary Cahill. All eyes will be on N'Golo Kante, should he start, after he made the move to Stamford Bridge from King Power Stadium in the summer.

What managers say

Claudio Ranieri: "He [Conte] is a winner, but of course he needs time. The reality here is different than in Italy and his job is bigger now. But he is right and I think he can lift some trophies. You need to understand the league and your players. The players must understand him and how he manages and how he changes, what he wants. I watch a good Chelsea so far."

Antonio Conte: "We are disappointed about the defeat against Liverpool because we gave away two goals and it was our first defeat of the season, but during training I've seen the right intensity and the right commitment from the players. And now tomorrow we have a very tough game against Leicester. We are ready."
