Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has predicted Jamie Vardy will stay at the club during the January transfer window. Vardy has scored in his past 10 games in the Premier League as part of a stunning run of form.

"I understand if somebody wants to go, but I believe in the next year Leicester is going to battle for the top [of the Premier League]," said Ranieri at a press conference on 26 November. "At this moment we are very happy and I think Jamie is happy with us. I think he can continue to show his strength with us."

Vardy has alraedy equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy's record of scoring in consecutive games and is now aiming to break it. To do that, he'll have to score against 2nd place Manchester United on Saturday. Ranieri is very much behind Vardy's record attempt, but reiterated home that their games are not just about him.

"Jamie has his idea and his teammates will try to help him, but the main idea is the team, and after is Jamie and there is me and everybody," said the Italian. "I hope for him and for Leicester fans also for the record, because sooner or later someone will break it and Jamie deserves it."
