Strictly Come Frozen
The professionals perform to Let It Go BBC

Since BBC flagship Saturday night entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing was last on the air, Disney's animated feature Frozen became an enormous worldwide hit thanks in part to its showcase song Let It Go.

The anthem, performed by Idina Menzel, has been perhaps an even bigger hit than the film itself, and so it's no surprise that the BBC wasted no time in getting its professional dancers to perform a routine to the rousing chart-topper.

It was clearly a big deal to the Beeb, who advertised the routine ahead of time both on Saturday night's live show and right off the bat during the Sunday results show on which the performance took place.

The BBC production pulled out all the stops, utilising snowflake floor lights, a ceiling winch which hoisted up one dancer, computer generated ice effects and even footage of the performance shown in reverse.

Last night's show saw the series' first elimination as Masterchef's Gregg Wallace and his partner Aliona Vilani were voted off following a dance off against Mrs Brown's Boys' actress Jennifer Gibney and her partner Tristan MacManus.

Next week's Strictly has a Hollywood theme, with singer Donny Osmond taking part as a guest judge.
