Liverpool will take on Stoke City in the last Premier League game of this season at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.

Where to watch

Kick-off is at 3pm BST. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:30pm BST.

Overview

Stoke come into this fixture after a goalless draw against Burnley in the last fixture. In the last five matches, the Potters have lost only one match and Mark Hughes will be looking to finish the season on a high with a win.

For Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, the weekend's clash will be his last match in the Reds shirt after the star midfielder confirmed he will leave the club. He had a disappointing Anfield send-off as Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, despite taking a lead in the first half.

Brendan Rodgers' side will be hoping they could win the final game of the season in order to help Gerrard end his time at Liverpool with a victory. However, Stoke will be looking to spoil Gerrard's party with a victory over his side.

What managers said

Mark Hughes: "We want to end the season in the manner that the season has gone as a whole, with a positive outcome. We have done really well throughout the season and I always like to finish the campaign with a win."

Brendan Rodgers: "I've said at the beginning of the season that [the aim] is to finish as high as we possibly can. That is the aim for the game. Our season doesn't finish until the whistle blows on Sunday so it'll be a tough game for us away at Stoke but we go there and we want to finish the season strong."
