The comedian is Down Under ITV

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of here! star Freddie Starr has been rushed to hospital within hours of entering the Jungle after suffering a severe allergic reaction during the Greasy Spoon Bushtucker Trial.

The first bush Bushtucker Trial ended in crisis after the seemingly frail 68-year-old comedian started feeling sick and doctors had to be called in.

The showman reportedly started to feel the effects of his allergic reaction a couple of hours after he and fellow contestant and TOWIE star Mark Wright tackled the Greasy Spoon Bush Tucker Trial.

Show producers confirmed today that the star, who entered the jungle late and suffers from heart problems, was being closely monitored in hospital.

An ITV spokesman said today: 'Freddie Starr was taken unwell in the jungle. He was immediately attended to by on-site medics and taken to hospital where he was assessed by doctors.

'He will remain in hospital overnight as a precaution, and further tests continue. However, Freddie is in great spirits and keeping nursing staff entertained.'
