Manchester United have missed out on Desportivo Brasil sensation Bruno Gomes after the teenager revealed he has opted to sign for Brazilian club Internacional.

The 17-year-old striker has visited United's Carrington training ground on a number of occasions over the past 18 months, with the Premier League champions thought to have had first refusal on him after Sir Alex Ferguson oversaw a deal to ensure he signs for the club upon his 18<sup>th birthday.

Despite frequently interacting with United fans on Twitter and posing in the club's training kits, it would appear Gomes has chosen a different destination, however, confirming through the social media website that he will join the likes of former United striker Diego Forlan and Leandro Damiao at Internacional.
