Higuain to United? Probably not. Reuters

Manchester United remain quietly confident they can tempt Samir Nasri to Old Trafford -- despite recent reports linking the player to Manchester City -- and believe a £20m bid for the France midfielder will be enough to secure his signature.

With Nasri refusing to commit to a new Arsenal contract, the north London club face losing the 24-year-old for nothing next summer and reports suggest the player is prepared to leave the Emirates for Manchester.

Wenger will resist selling Nasri but officials at Old Trafford are confident the Arsenal board are receptive to a substantial fee for a player entering the final year of his contract.

United are prepared to pay £20m for the French midfielder, with a £130,000 a week contract on offer.

Summer spree

United are also interested in signing Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, according to Caughtoffside.com. The 21-year-old has been repeatedly linked with United and Real Madrid and, despite signing a new contract in May, could be allowed to leave the Ligue 1 side for around £15m.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has played down speculation linking the forward with a move to Old Trafford. The Argentina international said he is "very happy" at the club and has no plans to leave.

Reports last month suggested Real manager Jose Mourinho was willing to sell the 23-year-old to the Premier League champions in a deal involving Mexico forward Javier Hernandez.

Despite the speculation, the former River Plate forward insists he has no plans to leave the Bernabeu.

Finally, unconfirmed reports from Spain suggest United are contemplating an audacious bid for Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero. The 23-year-old Argentina international -- who has a €45 million buy-out clause -- has been heavily linked with a move to Italian club Juventus, with Chelsea and Real Madrid also interested.
