Overview

United come into this fixture after a goalless draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford in the final fixture of 2015. The Red Devils have struggled in recent times as they failed to win a single match in December.

Louis van Gaal has seen his side go without a win in last eight fixtures and he would like to end United's poor run against Swansea. The Dutchman is yet to taste victory over the Welsh club as last three matches ended in defeat.

Swansea enter this fixture after a disappointing goalless draw against Crystal Palace. Things have not changed largely at the Liberty Stadium since Garry Monk left the club and Alan Curtis was appointed as a caretaker manager.

The Swans have only two wins in last 10 league matches and Curtis will be hoping his side can take advantage of United's poor run on Saturday. He will be aware of the Red Devils' ability to bounce back from their recent disappointment as they search of their first win for over a month.

What Managers Say

Louis van Gaal: "Swansea have been what I call my ghost team, meaning we are looking to start this new year with what I have been told you say in England by breaking the duck."

Alan Curtis: "I've enquired about it and there are funds available. The targets are the same as we were talking about a couple of months ago. You don't go into the January window in the last week or so with a new list of players."
