Held at the Great Yorkshire Showground, the horticultural event hosts a wide range of activities from plant pavilions to live cookery theatre. One of the shows main highlights is the giant vegetable growing competitions – that started in 1983 – which has a top prize of £1,000 for the heaviest vegetable. The Harrogate Flower Show is held twice each year, and is widely regarded as the biggest and most prestigious independent shows within the gardening calendar and will run from 16-18 September.
