Michael Fassbender, who rarely speaks about his love life, opened up about his romance with girlfriend Alicia Vikander on Wednesday (26 October). During an interview with Good Morning Britain, the X-Men: Apocalypse actor said they did not plan to fall in love but "it just happened".

The couple has been dating two years now after meeting on the set of the movie The Light Between Oceans in 2014

"Is it hard for you when everyone wants to ask you about her?" the host of show Richard Arnold asked. "No, it's not hard. I just answer what I want to answer. It just happened. It's good that it happened. It is what it is," the 39-year-old actor replied. (Via Entertainment Tonight)

Previously, Fassbender had revealed as to how he fell for the 28 year-old actress.

"The chemistry was immediate, the spark, the intensity. I said early on, 'This girl frightens me'," Fassbender told The Mirror.

"She's so fierce and brave . . . it kind of bowled me over. We really relied on, pushed and supported one another, then we had fun as well. We would have a laugh," he added.

"We had BB guns, we played a lot of music. We surfed, fished, had barbecues, film nights," Alicia said.

Vikander speaking about their romance previously told Porter magazine: "We've never hidden the fact that we're a couple... He's extremely hardworking. He was like, 'Give me something new! I just need a new idea. I need to do it differently.' I just thought that was cool. Because that was what I was trying to do, too. To push each other and come up with new ideas each time."
