Atlassian Billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes Spotted on a Sydney Date as $23B Divorce Battle Drags On

Atlassian billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes was spotted on a date with girlfriend Amelia Beaumont in Sydney on Tuesday night, as reported negotiations over the couple's $23B shared asset pool continue following his separation from estranged wife Annie Cannon-Brookes.

The Atlassian co-founder was photographed with Beaumont at Armorica Grande Brasserie in Surry Hills before the pair were seen leaving the restaurant. Their appearance comes as settlement negotiations reportedly continue over Atlassian shares, more than 30 properties, and other assets within the couple's reported $23B shared asset pool.

Billionaire's Sydney Date Night

Beaumont was seen looking towards the cameras as she and Cannon-Brookes left the Surry Hills restaurant. The appearance comes more than a year after Beaumont was first publicly reported as being linked to the Atlassian billionaire.

She was previously reported to have travelled with Cannon-Brookes aboard his Bombardier jet, and the pair have since been seen together on trips to Europe. According to her LinkedIn profile, Beaumont is a product manager based in the Greater Sydney Area. Her profile lists Telstra Health as her current employer and shows previous experience in the technology sector.

Separation Settlement Still Unresolved

Meanwhile, Cannon-Brookes' financial settlement with estranged wife Annie remains unresolved.

They met by chance at an airport in 2008. In a 2018 Atlassian blog post, Cannon-Brookes recalled meeting Annie while waiting for a flight from Sydney to San Francisco. She initially mistook him for someone else, but he 'desperately wanted to keep the conversation going.' The encounter led to a phone number, marriage in 2010, and 'four amazing children'.

In 2021, the then-couple pledged to spend $1.5B of their personal fortune by 2030 on projects to tackle the climate crisis. They announced their separation in July 2023 after 13 years of marriage, without publicly giving a reason. At the time, a source close to the family told The Guardian, 'They're both focused on their children as their number one priority right now. They ask that their privacy is respected.'

More recently, The Australian reported that settlement negotiations involve Cannon-Brookes' Atlassian holdings and a property portfolio of more than 30 properties. A draft deal put forward several months ago failed to secure agreement, and negotiations could extend into 2027.

A Property Portfolio Worth Hundreds of Millions

Earlier reports put the value of the couple's property portfolio in the hundreds of millions of dollars, making real estate one component of the much larger reported asset pool. The Australian also reported that the division of Cannon-Brookes' Class B shares could affect his stake in Atlassian, which he co-founded with university friend Scott Farquhar. Cannon-Brookes remains Atlassian's CEO and co-founder, according to the company's current leadership information.

Cannon-Brookes' investments also extend into professional sport. In December 2020, he acquired a minority stake in the NBA's Utah Jazz, becoming the first Australian minority owner of an NBA team. Additionally, in 2021, he bought a one-third stake in Blackcourt League Investments, which owns 75% of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

For now, Cannon-Brookes has been seen spending time with Beaumont as negotiations over his separation from Annie continue. His latest Sydney outing with the Telstra employee comes as the Atlassian co-founder remains in the spotlight, while the division of the former couple's shared assets remains unresolved.
