Should the Beckhams ever decide to venture into acting, playing the new neighbours on US sitcom Modern Family might just be the perfect role for them. David and Victoria Beckham, along with their brood, recently joined Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who is best known for playing Mitchell Pritchett on the hit ABC sitcom show, on set – and the result was an epic family portrait.

The power couple and Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and daughter Harper, six, couldn't pass up the opportunity to pose for a picture in the iconic living room after Ferguson's husband Justin Mikita inadvertently photobombed their family photo earlier in August.

Ferguson, Victoria and David all struck cheeky poses by the stairs with their hands on hips, Brooklyn leaned on the back of the sofa while Romeo, Cruz, Harper and a friend were seen sitting on the sofa.

David went the extra mile by donning an emblazoned Modern Family T-shirt with his stylish fedora.

Victoria shared a sharp of the family day out with her 16.7million Instagram followers along with the caption: "Dunphy's are out, the Beckham's moved in (sic). The new modern family! #DavidDunphy #mitchstolemypose @jessetyler @davidbeckham X VB." The pop star turned fashion designer included a crying with laughter emoji.

Fans couldn't hide their excitement. "OMG what is happening!!!" one fan wrote while another added: "Omg My favorite show and you guys in it well then I'm dead!!! Love love love it!"

Ferguson reposted the picture on his own timeline, adding: "The role of Claire is being played by @victoriabeckham. The role of Phil is being played by @davidbeckham. The role of Victoria Beckham is being played by @jessetyler. Thank you all for coming to visit the Modern Family set today! We loved having you all!!!"

Victoria's family outing was a welcome distraction from her legal wrangling with a Tyneside takeaway restaurant that compared her to its uber thin pizza crusts. The mother of four is taking legal action after Sidhu Golden Fish and Chips featured a caricature of an emaciated Beckham wearing a sash which read: "Anorexic Fashion Icon" along with the slogan: "Our new Victoria Beckham thin crust only 2mm thin" on the back of one of their delivery vans.
