A Malaysian court has given a woman 150 years in jail for forcing her underage daughters into prostitution.

The 39-year-old single mother had reportedly forced her daughters into having sex with Bangladeshi men. She had prostituted the girls to two men at a budget hotel in Larkin Perdana on five different dates — on 1 October and then for four days in a row from 4 October to 7 October.

Sessions judge Kamarudin Kamsun gave the woman 15 years' jail for each charge after she pleaded guilty to 10 charges of prostituting the girls, aged 10 and 13 years, The Star reported.

The sentences will run concurrently, and she is set to spend 75 years in jail.

The woman, called "monster mum" by the local media, was arrested on 25 October at her home. During investigation, it was found that she had sold her children for 50 ringgits ($11.9, £9.09) a session; sometimes the girls would receive RM1, RM5, RM10 or RM20.

The woman was living with her daughters in one of six rooms at a two-storey commercial lot in the area. The daughters are from her fourth and fifth marriages. Now, they would be given shelter at a children's home in the Malaysian state of Johor.
