Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson made for a comedic pairing at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards which was held on 9 April at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California. To commemorate 25 years in the business, the awards celebrated some of the best works done in the past year.

Unlike other years, this time the awards were not aired live and will be available for viewers on 10 April on MTV.

The event's big winners were Star Wars: The Force Awakens which earned 11 nominations and took home three of the golden popcorn awards. Ryan Reynolds won two awards for Deadpool. Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine beat Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan of Fifty Shades Of Grey, Amy Schumer and Bill Hader (Trainwreck), Vacation's Leslie Mann and Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie and Will Smith (Focus), and Morena Baccarin and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), to win the award for best kiss for their comic and messy tongue wrestle in Pitch Perfect 2.
