20th Century Fox have released a new poster for their upcoming teen action epic The Maze Runner.

Based on the novel by James Dashner, the film's official synopsis reads:

"Based on the best-selling young adult thriller, The Maze Runner is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where Thomas is deposited in a community of young men after his memory is erased. After learning they're all trapped in a maze, Thomas joins forces with fellow "runners" to not only escape the maze, but solve its riddle and reveal the chilling secret of who brought them there, and why."

There are clear Hunger Games connotations but what we've seen of the film so far indicates anything but a mere immitation. A trailer was released earlier this year, which you can watch below...

The film was in attedance at this past weekend's Comic Con convention in San Diego, where star Dylan O'Brien accidentally dropped a big spoiler. Luckily the crowd were fans who had read the book anyway.

Footage from the film was also screened to the audience, garnering a positive reaction.

The film also stars Brits Will Poulter (We Are The Millers) Kaya Scodelario (Skins) and Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually). It is being directed by first-timerWes Ball and is set for release on 10 October 2014.
