They're loved the world over, but it seems that One Direction have discovered a whole new set of fans on Sesame Street.
The British pop stars made a cameo appearance in an episode of the long running US children's show.
Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan were photographed perched on a stoop with Big Bird.
Big Bird introduced the band by saying: "Some special friends are coming to Sesame Street. Stay tuned."
A picture was posted on the official Sesame Street Twitter page, along with the message: "Guess who's 1D's 'biggest' fan? (And thanks for visiting Sesame Street @onedirection!)"
The boy band are the latest in a long line of celebrities to appear on Sesame Street including Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, actress Halle Berry, Ricky Gervais, Jude Law and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Singer Katy Perry, who discovered Niall Horan while serving as a guest judge on The X Factor, has also appeared on the show however, the episode was not broadcast after parents objected to her inappropriate attire.
Elmo and his pal Grover appealed to the pop songstress to come back on the show saying: "Elmo loves Ms. Katy and we had a good time. So we'll have another play date."
An official broadcast date for the episode featuring One Direction is yet to be confirmed by PBS.
