Paris terror attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam has been extradited to France from Belgium.

The 26-year-old, who is the prime living suspect in the 13 November bombings, carried out by an Isis cell, was arrested in Belgium on 18 March following a four-month manhunt.

A spokeswoman for Belgium's federal prosecutors told Reuters on 27 April, "I can confirm he's been extradited."

In a statement from the federal prosecutor's office, back in March, it was revealed Abdeslam would not be fighting the extradition and that he gave 'clear consent' for the transfer to France.

The suspect's older brother, Brahim, was responsible for the explosion at a café on Boulevard Voltaire, with French media recently releasing footage of the moment the bomb detonated.

However, it is believed that Abdeslam had planned to detonate a suicide bomb at a sports stadium, but got cold feet and fled the city after dumping his suicide vest.

After fleeing the city, Abdeslam was quickly linked with the Paris attacks and was frequently referred to as Europe's most wanted man as authorities attempted to track him down. Police finally arresting him in Belgium after an international investigation.

He is to be placed in isolation when he reaches France and is set to face trial for terror offences.
