Patrick J Adams has given Suits fans major emotions by sharing what could be one of the last group shots of the cast together.

The 36-year-old actor shot to fame for playing Mike Ross on the US paralegal drama, a brilliant college dropout turned unlicensed lawyer.

He and Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle – who plays his onscreen fiancée Rachel Zane – will not be returning next season. This means that his latest Instagram snap is particularly special to fans who have followed their story since 2011.

Adams' snap of the cast around a table included Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres and Rick Hoffman, along with Markle, who flashed her 1,000-kilowatt smile in in a black turtleneck sweater and her dark hair worn in loose waves.

Fans are devastated to hear that Adams is leaving the show, with one person commenting: "In Australian news today they reported your leaving the show... I will be the first to admit, I cried! Cleared my browser history and pretended I didn't read it!"

Another said: "Hope this isn't goodbye..." as someone else said: "RIP Rachel and Mike".

A fourth added: "The "A" Team !!!!!! ...and what an incredibly talented assembly of actors!! Thank you so much for the many hours of exemplary entertainment #suits#thankyou #actors #talent #talented ".
