Prince William Wants Nothing To Do With Brother Harry After Public Criticism, Piers Morgan Claims
The comments follow reports that William declined opportunities linked to a Diana documentary ahead of her 2027 death anniversary

Piers Morgan has claimed Prince William wants nothing to do with Prince Harry over Harry's public criticism of the royal family, as the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana's death approaches in 2027. In comments to Fox News Digital, Morgan argued that a reunion for a documentary about their mother appeared unlikely.
The comments followed a report by The Times that William had declined multiple opportunities to make or appear in a Diana documentary ahead of the anniversary on 31 August 2027. According to that report, cited by Fox News, avoiding another potential conflict with Harry was among the considerations surrounding William's decision.
Piers Morgan's Claims About Prince William
Morgan argued that William remained angry about Harry's public discussion of the royal family after the duke left royal duties. He pointed to Harry's memoir Spare, Netflix projects and podcasts. Morgan also cited comments involving Catherine, Princess of Wales, Camilla and King Charles.
'Well, they don't speak to each other and haven't done so for years,' Morgan stated when questioned about a possible documentary reunion. He described William as 'absolutely incandescent with anger'.
Morgan expressed support for William in his assessment of the brothers' relationship.
'Harry took out the spray gun,' Morgan noted. 'And when you do that, then family members who are on the receiving end aren't going to like it. My sympathies are entirely with Prince William, who's a thoroughly honorable, decent young man who's just had it with his brother and wants nothing to do with him.'
Prince William's Earlier Tribute to Diana
The brothers previously participated together in the 2017 ITV documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, which explored Diana's life and their memories of her. During a screening, William indicated that they were unlikely to discuss their mother so openly in public again.
Diana died in a Paris car crash in 1997, when William was 15, and Harry was 12. Friends of William reportedly believe he is likely to mark the 30th anniversary privately.
The Times also reported that William regarded the tributes surrounding Diana's 20th anniversary as his public 'catharsis', suggesting that he may not want another major televised project centred on his grief.
Harry's Diana Plans Differ From Prince William's
People Magazine reported that Harry has been exploring several ideas for honouring Diana and her legacy ahead of the anniversary. A documentary is one possibility under consideration, although no project has been finalised or officially confirmed.
Multiple sources told People that Harry has contacted friends and family members connected to his mother while considering how to mark the occasion. The potential project would follow his extensive recollections of Diana in Spare, where he described his grief at her funeral and the lasting impact of her death.
Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner offered another assessment of the family's relationship, stating that the worsening rift had left King Charles 'scratching his head'. 'Perhaps this is Charles' personal annus horribilis,' he added.
Harry has previously expressed a wish to reconcile. During a 2025 BBC interview, he stated, 'I would love reconciliation with my family,' adding that there was no point in continuing to fight because 'life is precious,' and 'I don't know how much longer my father has.'
