A second Facebook page has been set up in tribute to the murderer Raoul Moat after an initial tribute page was taken down following condemnation from Prime Minister David Cameron.

Following Moat's suicide last Saturday a Facebook page called "RIP Raoul Moat You Legend" was set up by Siobhan O'Dowd. The group attracted 35,000 members most of whom left messages of support to the deceased Moat and hurled blame and abuse at the police and Moat's ex-girlfriend.

Samantha Stobbart was shot by Moat after she started seeing Chris Brown, who was also shot by Moat. Brown was killed while Stobbart survived. Moat went on to shoot police officer David Rathband, who was blinded by the attack.

The new group "R.I.P Raoul Moat" has already gained over 13,000 followers although many of those commenting on the group have expressed their disgust at the support Mr Moat is receiving.

Earlier this week David Cameron said that he could not understand why anyone would feel sympathy for a murderer like Mr Moat and attempted to push Facebook into taking down the initial group.

Facebook refused but Ms O'Dowd who set up the page subsequently took it down.
